1982: McCafferty is involved with Armadale Thistle and boys’ clubs including Fauldhouse, where he abuses John Gaffney.
1983: He abuses another youngster on trips to watch Thistle.
1990: McCafferty joins Celtic as a scout in Northern Ireland.
1994 Becomes kitman at Celtic Park and is involved in youth team.
1996: Pictured with Willie McStay and his youth cup-winning side. But he leaves club for “personal reasons” after Record story about sex allegations.
1997: McCafferty returns to Scotland from Ireland. It’s understood he joins Hibs as kitman, a post he still holds in 2002.
2005: He retires from kitman role at Falkirk after it emerges he was potential suspect in the 1996 murder of Celtic youth team player Lawrence Haggart. Club say he is leaving because of ill health.
2016: Victims come forward to tell how McCafferty abused them and he confesses.
2018: McCafferty admits sex abuse charges in Belfast. Later jailed for three years and nine months.
2019: Pleads guilty to sexually abusing 10 victims in Scotland and is caged to six years and nine months.
