VIDEO SHAME GAZZA DUMPED BY VENUE

Fans promised refund after fallen footie star is ditched

-

FALLEN football idol Paul Gascoigne has been dumped by an island venue which no longer wishes to be linked with the troubled ex-Rangers star.

Tickets had already gone on sale for An Audience with Paul Gascoigne at Shetland’s Clickimin Leisure Complex in August.

But yesterday, promoter Stephen Stuart of Events 105 announced the plug had been pulled by the Lerwick venue.

The decision comes after a video surfaced at the weekend showing BY CHARLIE GALL c.gall@dailyrecord.co.uk Gascoigne apparently asking a man for cocaine.

But the former Newcastle, Spurs, Lazio, Rangers and England star insisted he was “safe and well” after a video was shared online.

Yesterday, Gascoigne responded on Twitter to his 350,000 followers “thanks 4 the support @ ClickiminLC”. Events 105 said: “Following a conversation with the venue’s management, we have been told in no uncertain terms that the venue wish not to be associated with Paul Gascoigne and as such they have decided to cancel the event at their venue.”

They apologised to fans and promised a full refund.

Robert Geddes, manager of the Clickimin Leisure Complex, said that a deposit had not been received from Paul Gascoigne’s promoter and they were left with no choice but to cancel the event.

He added: “We are sorry for the inconvenience and I can assure all those who have paid for tickets they will be refunded in full via Shetland Box Office.”

Irate fans took to social media to back Gazza. Lynda Anderson posted on Facebook: “If Clickimin are so concerned about his lifestyle, why did they book him in the first place?”
