MASHAM STAR (1.30) can gain a well-deserved success in the feature handicap. Mark Johnston’s tough gelding put in another excellent shift when fourth at Epsom on Friday and can strike in calmer waters.

MOON KING (2.35) can complete a hat-trick for thriving handler Ralph Beckett. The three-year-old has improved rapidly over staying trips and a big effort is expected after he slammed Nordano at Wetherby.

TICKS THE BOXES (3.10) can continue his revival for Brian Ellison in the apprentices’ event. The sprinter will relish returning to six furlongs after his third to solid yardstick Musharrif over five at Ripon.

CARDANO (7.0) can maintain Ian Williams’ excellent run at Ripon. The three-year-old beat

ALWAYS RESOLUTE (8.30) in the two-miler. A quality stayer at best, the eight-year-old shaped like his turn was near when third to Coeur de Lion at Chester. Brian Meehan’s DOMINUS (7.30) will take all the beating in the six-furlong contest.
