£11k raid on drugs plant
A THIEF nicked about £11,000 worth of a toxic material from a pharmaceutical factory.
Buprenophine – an opioid used to treat opioid addiction, and acute and chronic pain – was taken from Macfarlan Smith in Annan, Dumfriesshire, in the early hours of Monday.
A raider is believed to have stolen about 50lb of the substance.
DI Dean Little said: “Consumption of the material is likely to result in significant injury.”
