FASHION DETECTIVE Agatha’s back with a murder to solve
Emerging from a car back in the Cotswolds, Agatha (Ashley Jensen) is wearing a stunning hot pink number, wedges, shades and a bright orange sun hat.
She stands out like a beacon and, according to a disgruntled new resident of Evesham, she has “an overtly sexual aura”.
This fish-out-of-water point is rammed down our throats on a fairly regular basis.
Agatha is the PR guru turned amateur sleuth, who would be much more at home as a city slicker than holed up in a quintessentially British hamlet.
But as series two kicks off, she’s back after a spell abroad, reunited with her mates Gemma (Katy Wix) and Roy (Mathew Horne).
Feeling unlucky in love, they all swear off men, which is comedy code for “imminent romantic encounter”.
This double episode takes a while to get going but eventually, of course, Agatha inevitably becomes embroiled in another mystery.
It all starts off with her hair. Her roots need doing, so she heads off for an appointment with the village’s brilliant and charming new hairstylist Jonny Shawpart ( James Lance).
Dubbed the “Wizard of Evesham”, he is all over every woman who enters his salon – but could there be more to him than meets the eye?
Expect comedy farce as Agatha (and her ever-changing hairstyles) enters a storm of blackmail, conspiracy and murder.
