Hibs’ Iron will to land Ojo
HIBS are hopeful of fending off competition for Aberdeen to land Scunthorpe midfielder Funso Ojo.
Both clubs have submitted offers in the region of £125,000 for the 27-year-old who is determined to leave Glanford Park this summer.
The Iron initially blocked Hibs’ move for the player over a contract dispute but the Leith club are now optimistic they’re in pole position for the Belgian Under-21 cap.
Meanwhile, manager Paul Heckingbottom reckons a driving holiday in Spain may have exacerbated Vykintas Slivka’s hip knock woes and he now faces a race against time to be fit for next month’s big kick-off.
Ahead of tomorrow’s Betfred Cup clash with Stirling Albion he said: “There’s inflammation of the tendon. Sitting in one type of position could make it worse.”
