Best to hit road, Jack

Max advises his brother to go into hiding rather than face arrest over Fraser attack

-

Life just keeps getting worse for Jack. Not only has Rainie run off with his cash, but this week his friend Muski tips him off that his name has come up in connection with the attack on Tiffany’s rapist, Fraser.

In desperation, Jack turns to Denise for an alibi, but to protect Tiffany, he can’t tell her why he needs it. Perhaps understandably given her past with Lucas, Denise refuses to lie to the cops for him and then dumps him for good measure.

With the police on their way, Max suggests his brother’s only option is to go into hiding, but will Jack take his advice? Meanwhile, Tiffany blames herself for her uncle’s plight and tries to put in a good word for him with Denise.

When he’s not dealing with his brother’s legal troubles, Max has problems of his own as he tracks Rainie down to a hotel. She gives him the slip, but also loses her cash in the process and later has to turn to Stuart for help.

However, Kathy thinks Abi and Rainie’s disappearance is a matter for the police, even if it leads to social services’ involvement. It’s also a busy week for the Mitchells, as Phil notices the Slaters are unusually flush and wonders if they have his cash. He tells Shirley that if she can prove they took it, he’ll give her a cut of the recovered loot. Meanwhile, Phil is sick of Ben’s behaviour, although at least Lola is concerned enough to try to find out what’s behind it.

There are also pregnancy problems to contend with, as Louise tries to hide hers at school, while Sharon secretly sends off a paternity test.

Karen is floored when Caren asks her on a date and Adam has to explain why Habiba is in his flat in a state of undress.
