Monty’s in spot-light as Well’s stars shine
BY IAN ORR KERRY MONTGOMERY fired Motherwell into fourth place in the SWPL1 – at least until tomorrow.
The Well skipper’s 83rd-minute spot-kick secured a 1-0 win over Forfar Farmington.
For the hosts, just the consolation of a club record crowd of 423 at Station Park, with BBC Alba’s cameras also in attendance.
Well boss Donald Jennow said: “Forfar were organised and made us work for it.
“It’s great to be in fourth spot and our main priority is staying above the two teams below us now.”
Champions Glasgow City will look to strengthen their position at the top when they take on fifthplaced Spartans at Petershill Park tomorrow.
Hibs – with a one-game advantage – will bid to move level on points with Celtic when the secondplaced side visit Ainslie Park.
And a win for Rangers at Stirling University would lift them one point above last night’s winners Well.
