3 Gary Caldwell was sacked by Partick Thistle this week but did he get a fair crack of the whip?

YES. Caldwell talked the talk but crucially failed to walk the walk. The results speak for themselves. I don’t think he helped his own cause though when he told the players he would get rid of them after they lost 3-2 to Morton. He had to get a tune out of the same squad and it is no surprise to see him go. YES he did. For all the background noise at Firhill, he had ample time and the performances weren’t good enough over a sustained period. YES. It was a poor fit from the word go and he didn’t help himself by failing to get his squad onside by emptying the dressing room of stalwarts such as Kris Doolan and Chris Erskine. There is no evidence he’s management material and his time at Thistle underlined that fact.
