4 Scotland’s Rugby World Cup kicks off tomorrow. How far can Gregor Townsend’s men go?

-

TRADITIONALLY they perform well at the World Cups. They were robbed by a dreadful refereeing call against Australia in the last tournament at the quarter-final stage. Let’s be optimistic and hopefully they can exact some revenge for what happened four years ago by reaching the semi-final at least. LAST EIGHT. Same as usual. Scramble through the group and then lose to a decent team in the first knockout phase. The road to the quarterfinals is mapped out, top the group starting with a win over Ireland and face a showdown with either South Africa or New Zealand. It’ll be either blistering brilliance or defeats to the Irish and Japan and disaster but if Gregor Townsend’s big players perform then anything’s possible.
