DARREN BARR reckons Annan have turned Galabank into a League Two fortress.

The Galabankies haven’t lost a home league match this season as they eye a play-off place.

They kept the unbeaten home run going on as they fought hard for a point in a 0-0 draw with Stirling Albion.

The visitors were given a first-half penalty for a trip on Dylan Nguene Bikey but former Motherwell youngster Dylan Mackin blasted wide from the spot.

The Binos had another great chance to win it five minutes from time but Kyle Bradley was able to scoop the ball to safety.

Player-assistant boss Barr said: “We’re proud of our home record and we seem to get the best out of the players at Galabank.

“Our results here are our bread and butter so it’s good we’ve managed that consistency.

“We had a few boys out injured but our selected team stuck to their task well. The young boys coming on for us near the end was a highlight.

“We would’ve liked to take three points but the clean sheet is important to me from a defensive point of view. We’ve been good in stages this season and have a young group of players so it will be exciting to see if we can kick on.”

Cove Rangers scored early and late in their 2-0 success at Elgin that kept their unbeaten start to life in the SPFL going.

Mitch Megginson shot Cove into the lead after just three minutes with sub Christian Antoniazzi finding the net from 20 yards in 86 minutes.

Elsewhere, Alex Harris and Daniel Handling scored in the first seven minutes as Edinburgh City enjoyed a 3-1 win at Albion Rovers.

Declan Byrne pulled a goal back at the start of the second half but Allan Smith re-established the Citizens’ two-goal cushion after 81 minutes.

Cowdenbeath defeated hosts Queen’s Park 3-0 to secure a fourth straight win with Fraser Mullen’s penalty in 54 minutes followed by Craig Barr’s header and Jordan Allan’s tap-in.

And David Hopkirk hit a second-half winner as managerless Stenhousemuir edged out bottom side Brechin 1-0 at Ochilview, with the visitors losing Olly Hamilton to a late red card.
