-

ZANDER MILLER lit up Broxburn’s first Scottish Cup tie by netting a hat-trick as Lowland League visitors East Stirling were beaten 3-2.

Miller scored twice in the opening 15 minutes but Nicky Low’s free-kick brought Shire alive just before the break.

Andy Rodgers looked to have earned a first-round replay when he scored in 85 minutes. However, Miller lobbed home the winner in injury time.

Miller said: “I could not have asked for any more.

“It felt like the full town was here which shows being in the Scottish Cup is a big thing for the club.”

Cuikie led 3-0 at half-time thanks to goals from Aaron Somerville, Craig Stevenson and Aaron Ponton.

Craig Holmes pulled one back before Sean Stewart and Sam Jones completed the scoring.

After ending a 73-game wait for a win last month Fort William picked up their third success of the season when they blew away visitors Vale of Leithen 5-0.

Jordan Andrew opened the scoring early on and Bobby Nevison added a second at the start of the second half.

Ross Gunn shot home a double and Roddy Kennedy wrapped it up before Vale’s Lewis Hall was dismissed.

In the other Highland v Lowland League clashes Bonnyrigg’s George Hunter scored a last-gasp goal to knock Fraserburgh out 1-0 at Bellsea but Civil Service Strollers’ journey home from Buckie was a long one after a 4-1 defeat.

Thistle’s Hamish Munro, Andrew Macaskill, Kevin Fraser and Craig Cowie were on target with Cammy Muirhead’s penalty the only consolation for the visitors
