THE Daily Record revealed yesterday how Scots families were forced out of their Benidorm hotel after bosses feared they would be out of pocket as a result of Thomas Cook’s demise.
One family was asked to fork out more than £885 if they wanted to keep the room they had already paid for.
Readers expressed their disgust at the story on our Facebook page.
Robert L Watson wrote: “Hotel chains like these should be listed for their horrendous actions with their victims and blackballed on next year’s holiday listings as unhelpful and downright arrogant.”
Suzanne Meechan said: “It’s shocking and I don’t think the hotel realises that this behaviour will damage their reputation. Yes I can see what they are thinking, but they should be taking into account that the people they are throwing out have paid for the room – it’s the middle man that hasn’t.”
June Diggory said: “Come on Benidorm, it’s better than this. Show the people who keep Benny going some kindness – get out and help people.”
