Maguire: It’s been a long slog

STEPHEN MAGUIRE can’t wait to get home after this week’s China Championship after almost a month away playing in Bangkok, Shanghai and now Guangzhou.

The Scot, who kicked off his bid with a 5-2 win over Harvey Chandler, said: “I’ve been away for four weeks so I’m looking forward to going home. It’s been a long slog.”

Anthony McGill saw off Michael Holt 5-2 while world champion Judd Trump whitewashed Mike Dunn 5-0.
