Dow: Pars moving up
RYAN DOW insists Dunfermline are ready to take giant strides after their attackers were granted the room to roam.
The Pars moved to within four points of fourth place with a third home win on the bounce.
Dow bagged the crucial opener 11 minutes after half-time and Kevin Nisbet sealed the three points eight minutes from time.
With Andy Ryan and Greg Kiltie completing a potent forward foursome, the victory takes the Fifers’ tally to seven goals in their last three outings at East End Park.
Dow said: “We’re getting a good understanding. In the last few games we’ve had good movement, boys getting in behind and coming to feet, making it difficult for defenders because we’re always moving.
“It’s no one sitting in set positions. It’s down to the gaffer giving us a freedom that we can all interchange and be as much of a threat as we can.
“There’s nothing better if you’re an attacking player and you have got that freedom to go into areas and you are not stuck to that one position.”
After Dunfermline failed to turn their first-half dominance into goals they finally worked the opener in the 57th minute.
Lee Ashcroft’s long punt looked aimless but Kiltie pounced to win possession before playing in Dow to net.
And the win was sealed in the 82nd minute when Nisbet’s determined surge took him from the left edge of the area before he fired past Robby McCrorie.
Pars fans taunted ex- boss Allan Johnston who said: “That’s probably the poorest we’ve been.”
