I’M AN 18-year-old girl and I got pregnant while on the rebound. My boyfriend moved away three months ago to the other end of the country. We broke up purely because of the distance.

I then discovered he’d been dating someone else where he now lives.

Because I was feeling so hurt about it, I started seeing another guy and I’m now expecting his baby.

The thing is, though, I’m still in love with my ex and we’d started trying to work things out but now I don’t know if he’ll want me back because I’m pregnant with someone else’s baby.

What should I do? I’m devastated.

OK, I think you’re focusing on the wrong thing at the moment. You need to focus on the pregnancy and how you feel about it and decide, with support, what you want to do.

This is a big, life-changing thing for you, so, if you haven’t already, you need to reach out to your mum or someone else close to you and get their advice and guidance. You also need to see your doctor who can date the pregnancy and offer advice.

As for your ex, I guess what you need to think about is how this relationship would work given the distance. Is it really realistic to start dating him again, especially now?

I know it’s tough when you have strong feelings for someone and you obviously miss him but long-distance relationships are hard to maintain even when you’re older and have a solid relationship. Please get support with your pregnancy, then think about your love life. Good luck.
