EMMERDALE STV, 7pm

DAVID’S desperate for Jacob to realise how he’s been behaving and the impact he has had, and so comes up with a risky plan to make his son confront things. After a talking to at the cafe from Liv, Jacob returns home where David tells him he wants him to move out of Farrers.

He’s shocked, and pleads with David, Leyla and Pollard to let him stay but they’re sticking to their guns. As he leaves, could their plan backfire?

CORONATION STREET STV, 7.30pm & 8.30pm

IT’S an emotional one tonight as the truth comes out about the abuse Paul suffered as a child. It happens when – after realising Bernie wasn’t behind the break-in at Daniel’s – they conclude it must have been Kel. Gemma and Bernie break into his flat where they find the laptop, then are horrified as they discover a stack of old photos of Paul and other children.

Back at home, Paul breaks down as he tells his family about what happened to him.

EASTENDERS BBC1, 9pm

NOW that Ben’s let him go, Martin is finally looking happy. He wants to get in touch with Stacey to explain everything that’s been going on but can’t get hold of her.

But after heading to the Slaters’ house, he’s shocked to see Jean and Mo packing up his wife’s things.

Meanwhile, Max – still nursing a bruised ego – wants to show Ruby he’s serious about her and decides to propose. Great plan. Even more so when Ian gets involved and makes it public.

FLIRTY DANCING Channel 4, 8pm

THIS is one of those series where, when you see the description of it written down, it sounds absolutely bonkers. And/or seriously naff.

But the reality is a weekly joy that has us grinning from ear to ear.

Ashley Banjo plays both matchmaker and choreographer – he picks two people who seem compatible and invites them into his studio separately to teach them a dance he’s put together for them. Then the couple meet for the very first time as the music starts up and the dance begins.

They get to check each other out during the performance but when it ends they must go their separate ways – without ever having spoken.

The next day they must decide if they want to meet up for a date.

It sounds weird but trust us, it’s totally adorable.

Tonight’s prospective couples are fitness fans Nigel and Emma and old-school romantics Toby and Courtney.

THE GRAHAM NORTON SHOW

BBC1, 10.40pm

THERE’S another return booking as regular guest Ricky Gervais appears on Graham’s sofa tonight, having just revealed that he’ll be hosting the Golden Globes again.

He’ll be talking about his new stage show SuperNature, which he’s about to start touring around the world and he’ll hopefully be revealing some snippets about the second series of After Life, which has just finished filming. Ricky will be joined by Elizabeth Banks, actor in The Hunger Games, The Lego Movies, Pitch Perfect 2 and 3, and writer and director of the new Charlie’s Angels movie, which she also stars in as Susan Bosley. And Lewis Hamilton will be there, fresh from winning his sixth Formula One world title.

The tiny legend Kylie provides the music, with a special version of her No1 hit single Slow, and joins the rest of the guests for some chat and big red chair action.
