Robinson: I’m just happy to play anywhere for my team

-

SCOTT ROBINSON is happy to be a jack of all trades at Livingston – as long as he’s operating at the top level.

The former Hearts youngster has played in a number of roles to good effect for Gary Holt’s team this season, be it in the middle of the park, wide of a front three, partnering Lyndon Dykes or leading the line.

Versatility is a valuable commodity, especially in a squad like Livingston’s which isn’t blessed with the strength and depth of others.

The 27-year-old came through the ranks at Tynecastle as a striker and was deployed in that position when he became the top flight’s youngest ever player at 16 years, one month and 14 days old.

He then made the move back to the middle of the park as he got older but has shown for Livi he hasn’t forgotten how to play up top.

And he praised the education he received in Gorgie that resulted in him being comfortable in several positions.

Robinson said: “I’m loving it, wherever I’m playing. The gaffer

BY ROSS PILCHER and Davie (Martindale) trust me to play anywhere – I’ve been left, right, up front on my own, in attack with Lyndon and in the centre of midfield this season.

“Wherever I am needed, I’ll chip in for the team.

“That’s probably a credit to my youth coaches at Hearts. They drilled it into many of us to play in many different positions ”

Regardless of where he is on the pitch today, Livi will be favourites, given Ross County’s disrupted preparation for the clash in West Lothian.

A sickness bug led the Staggies to cancel training during the week.

But the SPFL confirmed yesterday that the match would go ahead as scheduled.

No matter what kind of side County are able to put out, Robinson won’t take anything for granted. He said: “The main thing from our perspective is not to let our focus wander.”
