It’s all Greek to Hollywood star Hanks
TOM Hanks may officially consider himself Greek.
Greece’s president Prokopis Pavlopoulos has signed an honorary naturalisation order allowing the 63-year-old to claim Greek citizenship.
Hanks frequently spends summers on the Greek island of Antiparos and his wife, actress and producer Rita Wilson, is of Greek and Bulgarian ancestry.
Under Greek law, honorary naturalisation may be granted to people “whose naturalisation serves the public interest”.

A 60-year-old woman was last night fighting for her life with a serious head injury following the smash in Bearsden, near Glasgow, on Thursday afternoon.
Six others were injured after a Land Rover ploughed into the group on Manse Road. Two women, aged 21 and 65, and a 15-year-old boy are in a serious but stable condition.
Another two women, aged 45 and 52, and a 50-year-old man suffered minor injuries.
The 64-year-old female driver was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary as a precaution.
All seven pedestrians were taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
The road was closed for several hours while accident investigators tried to establish what happened.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed it to contact them.
