Revenge win will boost Livi’s top-six goal

-

RICKI LAMIE wants revenge on Hibs to give Livingston the chance of going into 2020 in the top six.

Livi’s recent revival was ended by Aberdeen and now the defender is keen to get back on track when the Easter Road side come to the Tony Macaroni Arena.

The Almondvale outfit have the added incentive as Hibs came from behind to knock them out of the Betfred

BY SCOTT BURNS Cup then in the league they also blew a two-goal lead and had to settle for a point.

Lamie said: “It’s a massive game. Hibs picked up a good result against Hearts and will be looking to kick on.

“They’ve had a boost of confidence and it’s Hibs at the end of the day. They’re a massive club with a massive team and a massive budget.

“They’ve good players who can punish you so we need to be a bit more resolute defensively than we were against Aberdeen if we want a result.

“We threw away a two-goal lead at Easter Road earlier in the season. Hopefully we can go back to our place and end the year with a decent win.”

Livi won a lot of plaudits in the first half of last season before collapsing at the start of the year. Lamie believes they are now in a position to do even better. He said: “For outsiders looking in they might feel we did better in the first half of last season than the second.

“But we’re about four or five points off our tally so if we can go into Sunday and get a win we’re not far off last year. We had a poor second half last season so if we can kick on again then we can see where it takes us.”
