Record Sport’s top team tackle the big issues

-

EIGHT. Celtic have all the attacking armoury they need to pull further out of sight.

I THINK the five-point gap will still be in play come the final whistle tomorrow.

EIGHT. Celtic have been ruthless against their rivals this season and haven’t even played them at Celtic Park yet. The Betfred Cup Final was Rangers’ real chance and Celtic did a number on them. The chance to give themselves a title cushion at home isn’t one you can see them passing up.

2 WILL this be the game in which Alfredo Morelos breaks his Celtic duck?

PROBABLY not. It’s a record that appears to weigh too heavily on his shoulders.

YOU would think if there is any game Alfredo Morelos would be fired up to break his duck it would be this one. Yes, I can see him getting Rangers’ goal.

AFTER blowing his big chance to do it at Hampden from the penalty spot it wouldn’t surprise me if he finally did it the hard way. He’s by far and away Rangers’ biggest threat against every other team in the league and the law of averages suggests it has to happen eventually.

3 WILL Hearts save themselves from relegation?

IT’S looking increasingly grim down Gorgie way and Daniel Stendel is already talking as though he’s coming apart at the seams. They are now favourites for the drop.

NO, as it stands, I think Hearts will be relegated. The squad they have doesn’t seem to be producing and I’m not sure Stendel knew how big a mess he was walking into!

IT’S going to hinge on what they do in January. Stendel obviously wants to clear the decks but this window can prove challenging. If he can get in three or four with their better players returning to fitness, Hearts should have enough. Getting one of his assistants in to help him could be key.

4 SHOULD Alex Dyer be given the Kilmarnock job full-time?

WHY not? He couldn’t be any worse than Angelo Alessio and the players appear to like him.

YOU would think Dyer was a safe pair of hands and would be perfect for the Kilmarnock job. He would offer some stability after the rollercoaster ride of Alessio’s stay.

GIVEN his apparent reluctance to take the job full-time probably not. Dyer has said he won’t apply and seems to be one of those guys who’s good at being a No.2 and is happy with that. Gary Holt with Dyer as assistant could be a good solution.
