Bride comes before a fall
TV characters got wed – but maybe some wish they had said ‘I don’t’
BARMAID Eva chose the classic combination of fake tan, corset top and big froufrou skirt for her nuptials. With a messy up-do and understated accessories, she looked pretty classy – until it all degenerated into a cat fight.
BET Lynch was always a go big or go home kind of girl as the puff sleeves on this magnificent meringue prove. It’s got it all going on – giant bouncy skirt, ruffled plunge neckline, twinkly headpiece and waterfall veil attached to her beehive.
FOR their first attempt at tying the knot, Becky went for it in a white mariboutrimmed mini dress more suitable for Strictly Come Dancing than a solemn ceremony. Her tiara is almost lost in a giant bouffant hairdo.
BY ANNA BURNSIDE CORRIE fans have their tissues at the ready as Sarah Platt prepares to wed fiance Adam Barlow.
And her glam 20s-style dress may well inspire real-life brides to go for a similar look for their own big days.
Here’s our pick of the best and worst of soap opera brides as they tied the knot – before it all went pear-shaped.
THE groom spent his stag do trying to get arrested so that he missed his big day, but Sunita had already turned her attentions to Dev and walked away before any rings were exchanged. Shame, as her eye-popping gown was one of the better frocks we’ve seen.
EVEN when white stilettos were a thing, there was no need to wear them on the big day. The hat with the veil attached is another trend that has thankfully stayed buried in the last century. Poor Reg’s glasses clashed with his tails.
LINDA’S dress seemed to be made of embossed wallpaper and had the uncomfortable strapless design that means brides spend a lot of their big day tugging at their bodice. A huge frouffy veil completed the look.
BETH and Kirk took their 80s theme all the way. She was trussed up as Madonna in her Like A Virgin era while he was an unconvincing Adam Ant. No man should get married in a curly wig and white facepaint. Madonna did the slutty bride thing way better than Beth did.

BETH TINKER & KIRK SUTHERLAND CORONATION STREET 2016
KELLY walked down the aisle in plenty of fake tan and a blush pink corset top gown. No veil for this foxy bride, just a tiara glued in with superstrength hair lacquer. The groom’s buttonhole co-ordinated with her gown for added cute.
