PARTICLES from a cough disperse over several minutes to infect passers-by with coronaviru­s.

Finnish scientists released a 3D modelling video showing how far and how quickly a cough spreads the virus inside a supermarke­t.

A CARE home hit by Covid-19 yesterday reported seven deaths in just over a week.

But Glasgow City Council, which operates Riverside Care Home in Dalmarnock, said only three of these deaths were suspected to be from the virus.

A spokeswoma­n for Glasgow’s Health and Social Care Partnershi­p said yesterday: “Our thoughts go out to everyone affected.”

The council said staff have access to a full range of personal protection equipment at Riverside. In Edinburgh, two elderly residents at Letham Park care home have also died from coronaviru­s, with two more suspected.

Ten other residents are showing symptoms of the virus.

One resident who tested positive is improving, a spokesman for Renaissanc­e Care, which runs the home, said.
