Archewell enemies

-

BY CHRISTOPHER BUCKTIN PRINCE Harry and Meghan’s new foundation was shaken after an internet troll hacked its website – and linked it to Kanye West’s Gold Digger video. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex said this week they were planning to set up the non-profit Archewell Foundation. But fans who visited www.archewell foundation.com were redirected to a video of rapper Kanye’s 2005 hit. Yesterday, anyone typing in the address got a message saying, “This site can’t be reached”, after internet hosts took action. But many viewers had already given their verdict. One wrote beneath the song on YouTube: “Hahahah, to his Wikipedia entry. On Tuesday, the duke and duchess announced from their LA home they were launching Archewell and its links with their son’s name.

They had to scrap their SussexRoyal brand after the Queen is reported to have banned them using royal ties to make money.

In a statement, Harry, 35, and Meghan, 38, said: “Like you, our focus is on supporting efforts to tackle the global Covid-19 pandemic.

“But faced with this information coming to light, we felt compelled to share the story of how this came to be.

“Before SussexRoyal, came the idea of ‘Arche’ – the Greek word meaning source of action. We connected to this concept for the organisation and it became the inspiration for our son’s name.

“We look forward to launching Archewell when the time is right.”
