SCOT’S GAMBLE ON
Kris: It has been easy not to think about AC ROLLING THE DICE
BY ALAN MARSHALL
KRIS AJER has shrugged off being linked with Serie A giants AC Milan, insisting he’s only concentrating on playing for Celtic.
There has talk of a big-money move to Italy after the defender’s agent stated he would be leaving the Hoops this summer.
Ajer is currently back home in Norway, with Scottish football shut down for the foreseeable future.
And the 21-year-old insists the speculation hasn’t bothered him a bit.
He said: “I have two years left of my contract at Celtic and I’m not focussing on my future at all.
“I am not interested in what has been written about me.
“At the moment I am training hard. I have told the Celtic physical trainer that I want to take big steps during this break period. I run two sessions a day and I am building up a lot of strength doing that.
“I am lucky to have a family in Kristiansand who are very good at keeping fit and I was fortunate I was able to leave Scotland to return home before the coronavirus lockdown.”
Ajer has played 57 games this term for club and country, amassing a total of 4984 minutes.
That’s more than any player in Europe but he can now recharge his batteries during the shutdown.
