Hyundai’s Prophecy on driving

S stunning new concept car from Hyundai uld have been one of the stars of the eva Motor Show. t the cancellati­on of the event due to navirus denied the Korean maker of what ht have been a global launch triumph. stead, the new design concept was given a key digital reveal – but Hyundai has now ased more details and images of the car. ubbed Prophecy, Hyundai says that rather than g a pure concept, the name refers to the fact this sleek coupe teases ideas and features ch the company will develop in the future. e marque’s chief design officer, Luc ckerwolke, says that Prophecy is inspired by vintage cars of the 1920s and 30s. But with its uously sweeping curves front and rear, oring buffs may reckon that it gives more than ere nod to the Porsche 911. e electrical­ly powered concept car is crammed novel ideas and one of the most unique is the ring system. Rather than a convention­al wheel, e are dual joysticks either side of the driver are used to steer. e system frees up space on the dashboard for r features, while buttons on the twin joysticks control 90 per cent of the vehicle’s functions. is means, for example, that drivers don’t have ke their hands off the joysticks to change the ic. Hyundai calls the cockpit’s ergonomic set-up Intuitive Human Interface. her features include the ability to create an mised seating position based on the drivers’ vidual physical characteri­stics. well as a manual mode, the system features a art” mode that allows the driver to enter their ht, seated height and weight. e system then automatica­lly adjusts the seat, ring wheel, mirror, and head-up display to the er’s individual physical condition. e infotainme­nt system is integrated into a large en stretching across the entire front of the cle’s interior. hen not driving, Prophecy can be used as an rtainment space by selecting Relax Mode.
