JURGEN KLOPP says Liverpool are ready for the Premier League return after they warmed up by sticking six past Blackburn at Anfield.

The Reds faced another team at their home for the first time since their Champions League defeat by Atletico Madrid on March 11.

Sadio Mane opened the scoring yesterday before Naby Keita and Takumi Minamino put the Reds in total control before the break.

Hoever and Leighton Clarkson completed the 6-0 rout.

Klopp said: “It looked really good. Really good, pretty much from the beginning.

“Yes, you have to get used again to playing against a deep-defending side and stuff like this. Blackburn had a playing build-up from time to time, so we could work on the high press as well.

“So the counter-press was brilliant, the football was really good, the goals were nice and it was a really good afternoon.”

Klopp admitted it felt strange to be playing at Anfield with no supporters in attendance as they prepare for behind-closed-doors Premier League games.

This was the Reds’ third outing at Anfield since they returned to training having done a normal session and an 11-a-side match between themselves on the pitch.

He said: “It’s different, of course. You need to get used to it, but I like it. After three times, it is completely OK.

“I thought before it would be really awkward, but we have to create our own atmosphere in the games.”
