Virgin go faster ...and cheaper!

-

VIRGIN Media has unveiled big changes to its TV, broadband and mobile network.

They should make things faster and, in some cases, cheaper.

There’s a swathe of updates including better broadband speeds and easier ways to customise your paid-for TV channels.

Not only that, Virgin has also confirmed a price cut to its supercharged Gig1 broadband – and longer contracts are being introduced to help save money.

So, if you’re an existing customer or you have been eyeing up Virgin Media’s offering – here’s everything you need to know…

FASTER BROADBAND: Virgin is finally making its super-fast 500Mbps broadband available to everyone.

Until now, those looking for these blisteringly-quick speeds needed to subscribe to the expensive Ultimate Oomph bundle. The update boosts the broadband-only top-tier package from 350Mbps to 500Mbps. CHEAPER PRICE: The next-gen Gig1 service offers the ability to download a full HD movie in under a minute.

With speeds topping 1000Mbps, it’s already available in Birmingham, Coventry, Manchester, Reading and Southampton. You can subscribe from £64 per month – a saving of £3. LONGER CONTRACTS: Most Virgin Media users used to only get 12-month deals and after that the price would go up. Now, it’s offering 18-month contracts, like its rivals. TV BOOST: Personal Picks let you build a personalised TV service for less. They start at £7 and each extra pack costs £5 per month. Personal Picks were priced at £10 for the first with extras costing £7 per month.
