Female thug took pics of battered lover in pool of blood
A FEMALE thug who attacked her lover then posed for photos in the blood-soaked aftermath has been jailed for 14 months. Samantha Hawkins left Robert Govan, 27, scarred for life after hitting him with a bottle in December 2017. The 24-year-old struck after a row at her home in Glasgow’s Scotstoun. Hawkins took sick snaps surrounded by a pool of blood and showed them to a witness. At Glasgow Sheriff Court, she pled guilty to three assaults and failing to attend a court date. Jailing Hawkins yesterday, Sheriff Ian Miller said: “You lost your temper and self-control. This was vicious assault where he lost a quantity of blood and has left a permanent effect on him.” He put Hawkins under supervision for six months after her release and granted a one-year non-harassment order. An earlier hearing was told it was claimed Robert had lashed out at Hawkins. She later captured pictures

Prosecutor Mark Allan said: “There were photographs of her lying on a mattress with a large pool of blood on her head and pictures of blood splatter on the walls and floor.”
The other person alerted police and when officers arrived, they found a broken bottle and a blood-stained Celtic top. Hawkins told officers: “We said he fell down the stairs but that didn’t happen. I know I’ve done something wrong.”
Hawkins carried out a copycat attack on Robert at a flat in Glasgow’s Maryhill in May 2019. He stepped in after Hawkins punched a woman, but he was then bottled, leaving him “covered in blood”.
Hawkins had been due to face the allegations in February but was not in the dock after she “slept in”.
Umar Hussain, defending, said Hawkins shared a cell in custody with her mother, who is serving a life sentence. He said: “This wasn’t the life she wished to be engaged with.”
