Boss Gerrard says Morelos is totally focused in what could be his last game for Rangers

- BY GARY RALSTON

ALFREDO MORELOS is ready to answer the Europa League call as Rangers bid to batter Bayer Leverkusen.

Steven Gerrard insists his Colombian frontman is fully focused in what could be his last appearance for the Ibrox club.

Spanish side Sevilla are the latest to check out Morelos, with Rangers moving into the market earlier this week to snap up strikers Kemar Roofe and Cedric Itten.

Lille have also been in talks with Rangers about Morelos, who could net the Light Blues a transfer fee of up to £20million. However, Record Sport understands there has

him back to Easter Road, although the midfielder wants to weigh up his options.

Hibs are set to take in around £150,000 from Swiss side St Gallen for Florian Kamberi and they could use some of that money to finance a deal for his Ibrox team-mate.

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has been full of praise for McCrorie in the past and tipped him as a future club captain.

It remains to be seen if Rangers would be prepared to sell the 22-year-old or if a loan deal can be thrashed out.

Portsmouth are also believed to be keen to take the versatile player, who can operate in central defence or a defensive midfield role, back for another season in England’s League One.

Pompey missed out in the play-offs but their season is set for a delayed start.

Hibs manager Ross has already been active this summer. He paid a sixfigure sum to land Kevin Nisbet from Dunfermline and brought in Drey Wright from St Johnstone along with Alex Gogic from Hamilton.

Meanwhile, Kamberi is expected to complete his £150,000 switch to St Gallen today.

The striker has been back in his homeland since last month and is set to undergo his medical with the Europa League qualifiers today.

Kamberi, ironically, replaces Rangers new boy Cedric Itten who completed his £2.5million move to Ibrox on Tuesday.

The 25-year-old spent the second half of last season on loan at Rangers but upset the Easter Road club and support when he claimed, on signing, it was his dream move.

Rangers tried to take him back on loan over the summer, with Docherty going the other way, but Kamberi made it clear he wanted a permanent exit from Easter Road.

The Ibrox side were unwilling to pay a fee and so their interest ended a couple of weeks ago.

Hull also made a bid for Kamberi but Hibs rejected that and their interest faded when the Tigers were relegated from the English Championship.

Hibs have now decided to cut their losses but they will recoup more than the six-figure fee they paid Grasshopper to get the striker back in 2018 and have also secured a healthy sell-on from St Gallen.
