October 1960 Born Eric Stuart Joyce in Perth 1978 He joined army in his teens, serving as a private in the Black Watch and receiving a commission in the Royal Army Educational Corps. 1999 Resigned as an Army major under threat of discharge after being found to have broken Queen’s Regulations for writing a pamphlet describing the army as “racist, sexist and discriminatory”. 2000 Wins the Falkirk West by-election as Labour candidate. Served as a Parliamentary Private Secretary to UK Government ministers. 2010 Served as Shadow Minister for the Northern Ireland Office under Ed Miliband.
November 2010 Arrested for failing to provide a breath test following a motoring incident. Pleaded guilty, fined £400 and banned from driving for a year. Resigned from his position as Shadow Northern Ireland Minister.
February 2012 Arrested on suspicion of assault after a brawl in House of Commons bar. Immediately suspended from the Labour Party, before pleading guilty to all charges.
August 2012 Fined £600 for using scissors to remove the electronic tag fitted to his leg.
March 2013 Arrested again after a disturbance during a karaoke in Commons sports and social bar.
May 2013 Arrested at Edinburgh Airport after an altercation with airline staff over a mislaid mobile phone. He was fined £1500.
October 2014 Arrested after clashing with a teenager in shop in Campden, London. Sentenced to a 10-week jail term suspended for two years.
2015 Stands down as an MP having been arrested five time in the past five years.
November 2018 Joyce arrested and charged with making an indecent photograph of a child.
