FRANK PLEA FOR TYSON

BY DAVID ANDERSON

FRANK WARREN claims Tyson Fury must fight again before the end of the year for the sake of his mental health.

Fury’s mooted third clash with Deontay Wilder on December 19 may be postponed again if no fans can attend, leaving the unbeaten world heavyweight king with a problem.

He has kept on top of his inner demons since coming back two years ago only because he has been active, and has told promoter Warren he desperately needs to get back in the ring.

“Tyson made it very clear to me a couple of days ago that he needs to fight again before the end of the year,” said the Queensberry Promotions chief.

“It’s not in his best interests to sit around doing nothing. He needs something to aim for.

“The only way the Wilder fight works financially is to do it in front of a crowd but in the meantime let’s think about what works healthwise for Tyson Fury.

Warren is also adamant Fury’s potential clash with Anthony Joshua for the undisputed title must happen next year in the UK.

He said: “Him against Joshua is the fight everyone wants to see. It would be the biggest sporting event in this country since England won the World Cup. It would transcend sport.

“It’s not going to happen before the end of the year but it has to happen next year. And that fight should happen in the UK.

“We should move heaven and earth to make it happen here.”

But his powderpuff shot was saved by keeper Yassine Bono and sparked the five-times Europa League winners into action.

They started to run the show and gave Wolves a really tough time of things as they dominated possession and only a string of fine saves from Rui Patricio kept the five-time champions at bay.

It was Jimenez’s ninth spot-kick for Wolves and he had converted all of his previous eight.

There was big suggestion that the keeper was off his line and that Sevilla players encroached but you still would have banked on him to put it away.

It was such a shame because Adama Traore’s super scorching run to win the penalty ended up counting for nothing. The sprint
