QUOTE OF THE DAY

-

‘Bolingoli has been woeful. The biggest punishment that could be imposed on Celtic would be forcing Lennon to play him!’ reason for the Celtic players breaching Covid-19 protocol lies with the attitude of their manager.

“Lennon says Griffiths breaching the rules by throwing a house party was not a big issue. This is then followed up by this latest incident. Show some management leadership to your players and maybe they will toe the line.”

Nicola Sturgeon and Professor Jason Leitch are furious with Scottish football for stepping out of line with Bolingoli’s trip coming after eight Aberdeen players were caught in a city centre bar.

Alan McGaw, Alloa, said: “We had Aberdeen players going out for a night in the town and now a Celtic player not quarantined after returning back from Spain. Do the players want the game completely stopped for good? That’s the way it’s heading.”

With their domestic games postponed, Celtic’s next match will be in Europe.

But Chris Lowe, Yoker, said: “If I was KR Reykjavik I’d be asking UEFA questions about this as Celtic should be made to forfeit their Champions League qualifier.”

Lance Little, Erskine, said: “Whilst I totally agree with any punishment which may be coming to Celtic and Aberdeen for having players not adhering to Covid rules the same should apply to all clubs.

“As an example during pre-season did Rangers not field about nine players in a game prior to the testing results for the players being confirmed?”

Ending on a lighter note Joe Moffat, Springburn, quipped: “Bolingoli has been woeful since he joined us and the biggest punishment that could be imposed on Celtic would be forcing Lennon to play him!”
