GET TIERNEY BACK FOR 10

-

FRoM BacK Page party. The Celtic wide man was shocked at the abuse his old Parkhead pal copped when he headed to Arsenal last season, with Tierney revealing he’s been scared to make an appearance in the stands at the club he loves.

The Gunners ace was on the end of vile abuse online – and even had to deal with ‘Judas’ being spray painted on a wall near his family home.

Forrest is hoping time will be a healer and Celticdaft Tierney – whom he feels should be part of any celebrations if they land the magical 10th title – will eventually be embraced by fans again.

He said: “Obviously the 10 is something that everyone at the club wants to get and KT has been a part of that.

“It’s too far away to talk about that, we’ll hopefully have another successful season and then we will have that call at the end of the season.

“Everyone knows how mad KT is about Celtic, and maybe it will just take time.

“He worked so hard coming through the youth here and he put in some great performances.

“He has so many great memories with Celtic.

“So I think over time he’ll definitely be welcomed back.

“He still texts all the boys, he still watches all the games that he can.

“Over time, I think he’ll definitely be welcomed back – and you never know, he might play for Celtic again too.”

Forrest saw close hand the over-the-top reaction from a section of the support when Tierney was making his £25million move south last summer and revealed the reaction cut his pal deep.

Forrest said: “It was difficult for him and I remember it was difficult for his family too.

“It’s the only club he had ever been at and it was the first time that he moved, and I think that made it harder for him.

“He said himself that reading that stuff, even though it maybe wasn’t the majority, he’d still be taking that in.

“But I do think that over time it will get better and he will definitely be welcomed back.”

Forrest sees KT as a club legend – and insists Tom Rogic should be seen as the same as the Aussie gets set for a Parkhead exit.

The playmaker is a £4m target for an unnamed Qatari side and Forrest said: “I’m pals with Tom off the park and on the park we’ve played really well together.

“He’s had loads of great memories here and won loads of stuff, he’s been a big player over the years.

“I don’t know if he’ll stay or if he’ll go but either way he has been massive for the club over the years.

“Everyone here hopes he stays but if he doesn’t then it has definitely been a positive few years in his career.”
