SHOCKING footage shows a man dying in a fireball minutes after he is seen wandering about the garden of a house with a petrol canister.

The sick video, which is being shared on social media, shows the incident unfold outside the property on Union Street in Greenock.

The man can be seen moving towards the home with the cannister before a horrific fireball explodes seconds later.

Covered in flames, he falls to the ground as messages gloating over the grim scene appear across the footage.

We are aware of a video circulating: inquiries are ongoing POLICE INVESTIGATING THE HORROR CASE

As the man is seen lying in one part of the garden, sti l l ablaze, he attempts to crawl away.

The upsetting video then shows his movements stop.

Text then appears on screen calling the man “an amateur” and saying “burn”, before another fireball spreads across his body.

The distressing video ends by saying the man is now “called toast”.

The video appears to be a CCTV film.

Sources told the Record the property where the blaze took place is linked to a local man wanted by police. The Daily Record showed the footage to Police Scotland who confirmed they are “aware of a video circulating and inquiries are currently ongoing”.

It is understood the footage relates to an incident being investiged at a house on Union Street on Monday night in which a 46-year-old man died.

Police and fire chiefs have launched a joint probe into the incident. Emergency services rushed to the scene at about 10.35pm on Monday after being alerted to the blaze.

Three fire engines were dispatched after the fire took hold inside the ground floor flat.

But the man could not be saved and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Formal identification of the man is still to take place.

Area Commander James McNeil of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were alerted at 10.28pm on Monday, September 14, to reports of a fire that had taken hold within a ground floor flat in Union Street, Greenock.

“Operations Control mobilised three appliances to the scene and firefighters removed a male casualty from the building, who was very sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

“Our thoughts are very much with his family, friends and the wider community at this difficult time.

“A joint investigation alongside Police Scotland will take place in due course.”

“Emergency services attended and a 46- year- old man was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Inquiries continue however, at this time, the death is not believed to be suspicious and officers are not looking for anyone else in connection with this.”
