Ben Nevis no bother after Ali’s brain op
A MAN who had life-saving brain surgery has climbed Ben Nevis for charity.
Alistair Petrie, 34, sought medical advice after a loss of balance caused him to fall off his bike.
An MRI scan revealed a brain tumour, but complications after surgery meant he had to endure several lumbar punctures and follow-up operations.
Despite his ordeal, Alistair, from Glasgow, climbed Ben Nevis last month to raise money for the Brain Tumour Charity.
He said: “I see it as a big achievement for me as I was so far away from this point 18 months ago.
“I had great support from my family and friends which helped me massively to my road of recovery and I have adjusted to my new normal.”
