But she said one possible way to see restrictions relaxed in the future would be to follow existing guidance – principally by avoiding indoor gatherings.
“In the normal course of events, people start to think about Christmas in mid-October,” Sturgeon said.
“But this is not a normal year. In the context of a pandemic, Christmas is still some time away.
“It’s going to be important over the next few weeks to give people guidance and parameters in which we can all try to have the best Christmas possible.”
