- BY CHRIS HUGHES

OSAMA bin Laden’s former mouthpiece in Britain is set to return after being freed from prison in the US.

Adel Abdel Bary, 60, was sentenced to 25 years for his part in the al-Qaeda bombings of US embassies in Kenya and Tanzania in 1998 that killed 224 people.

His London premises were Bin Laden’s “media information office”.

Bary was arrested in 1999 in the UK, jailed and extradited to America in 2012. With his time now served, US authorities want to return him to Britain. He may be back within weeks.

If he did return, it is likely he would be monitored.

His poor health is said to have led the US to free him weeks early on compassionate grounds as a Covid risk. He is in a US detention facility.
