Isle watch Forfirsttime tonight

- BY HEATHER GREENAWAY

LAURA Anderson says she is terrified of watching herself on tonight’s Love Island reunion show and reveals she still hasn’t watched a single episode from her time in the villa.

The Daily Record columnist, who finished runner-up in the summer 2018 season, admits she is very nervous about seeing herself on screen for the first time.

Laura, 31, who appears on tonight’s episode of Love Island: What Happened Next is also anxious what her ex Max Morley will say about her and is worried viewers will think there is something going on between her and flirty Jack Fincham.

The former flight attendant is one of a host of former islanders from all six seasons, who have been reunited for a special three-part series, which began last night on ITV2.

Laura, who moved back to Scotland last month, said: “I’m terrified of seeing myself on the show. I think I am so nervous as I’ve yet to see a single episode of my season of Love Island.

“I now have the fear my friends and family must have felt every night not knowing what had happened in the villa and how I was going to come across. It’s scary.

“I’ve managed to avoid seeing any of the footage of me when I was on the show as I when I came out I was too busy and part of me was too scared to watch.

“I went on holiday to Dubai and am now self isolating for two weeks so I will have to watch the show on my own in my flat which is even scarier but I will probably get one of my friends on the other end of the phone so they can give me some moral support.”

Laura, who lives in a posh apartment overlooking Glasgow’s Kelvingrove Park, added: “You never know how things are going to be edited but in the light of what happened to Caroline Flack and two of the other islanders they have to be

a bit more responsible. Yes juicy goss and drama does make good TV but I sensed this time the producers only wanted the positive and they were looking out for us.

“Sometimes you say things and your friends don’t bat an eyelid at but then on TV it looks completely different and people judge you and might not understand a joke you make.”

The former hairdresser, who will be seen enjoying a socially distanced lawn picnic with Jack Fincham and Dr Alex George admits Dani Dyer’s ex was flirting up a storm and she has no idea how that is going to come across to viewers.

Laura said: “I had a lovely day filming with the boys. Jack was full of chat about his new baby and Alex was telling us all about his work on the Covid frontline with the NHS.

“Then bloody Jack started flirting with me which could be misconstrued and look so bad. Jack and I get on really well but he is such a flirt.

“It’s going to look weird as the last time he was on Love Island he was with Dani but we are just friends and I hope people don’t read more into it.

“It doesn’t help we joked that if we were still single at 40 we could get married. It was all harmless fun but you never know which way it will be taken, especially with a look here and a wink there.”

Laura, who was brought up in Cambusbarron, near Stirling, added: “I got trolled after Jack posted a photo of the three of us that day on his Instagram by people saying I was unrecognisable and had had a facelift.

“As you will see from TV, I look like myself. I suppose there is always a fear of getting trolled when you are in the public eye but I’m sure the programme will show me in a good light.”

Tonight’s episode features Islanders from series three and four including catch-ups between Kem Cetinay and Chris Hughes, Olivia Attwood, Georgia Harrison and Amber Davies and Dom Lever and Jess Shears.

It will also see Marcel Somerville and Sam Gowland reminiscing about their Love Island experience, Megan Barton Hanson, Samira Mighty, Georgia Steel, Zara McDermott hosting a baby shower for Dani

Laura says she is excited to see what all her season’s Islanders have been getting up to but admits she is slightly worried about what her ex-boyfriend – season one winner Max Morley will have to say about her.

She said: “I’m slightly apprehensive but I’ve been told it’s all good.”

Laura split with her fitness trainer boyfriend Tom Brazier the day after filming the reunion show and admits it was hard speaking about their relationship on camera.

She said: “It was a really hard situation to film as I wasn’t sure. I had to film two versions – one as if we were together and one as if we had broken up as the show was shot so far in advance.”
