Oslo blames Russia for parly attack
RUSSIA has been accused of a cyber attack on the Norwegian parliament’s email system.
Norway ’ s f or e i gn minister Ine Eriksen Soreide called the strike “a serious incident that affects our most important democratic institution”.
She added: “It is our assessment that Russia is behind this activity.”
But the Russian embassy in Oslo said “no evidence had been presented”.
The parliament was targeted on August 24 and “a small number of MPs and members of staff had their email accounts hacked”, according to Marianne Andreassen, the assembly’s administrative head.
She added “various quantities of data had been downloaded”. The attack was immediately stopped.
