Virus crisis fuels online fraud fears

-

THE boom in internet shopping, banking and video calling because of the pandemic has left 30 per cent of adults feeling more vulnerable to fraudsters, a poll has found.

Scammers are targeting digital newbies who are still trying to find their way around the technology.

Action Fraud, the UK’s reporting centre for cybercrime, estimates 85 per cent of all fraud in the past year – £2.3billion worth – was carried out online.
