Dicker: Killie squad deserve more time
KILMARNOCK captain Gary Dicker believes his Covid-hit squad deserved a bit more time to prepare for Saturday’s Premiership fixture against Livingston.
The club were forced to field a team half made up of youth players in Tuesday’s Betfred Cup 3-0 defeat to Dunfermline and the returning senior players have very little time to prepare for the weekend.
He said: “The young players have a lot to be proud of, coming in at short notice. They gave a good account of themselves.
“The first team couldn’t t rain prop e r l y on Wednesday. I don’t really understand it. We have got the rest coming out of i solation now and effectively they’ll only have two days training before our game with Livingston at the weekend.
“I’d have liked a bit more time to prepare for the Livingston match but we just have to get on with it.”
