Soap star is helped out of a cash crisis

- BY MAGDALENE DALZIEL

RIVER City star Iain Robertson says he was touched by the “amazing kindness” of a stranger after being caught cash-strapped at a tourist spot.

The Small Faces actor stopped to get a bite to eat at a mobile food van at the top of the Rest and Be Thankful road in Argyll.

When he realised he had no cash with him, a Good Samaritan stepped in and insisted on paying.

Iain, 39, who plays Stevie O’Hara in the BBC Scotland soap, said: “I want to thank the amazing kindness of the stranger who insisted on giving me money.”

Iain said he tried to transfer money to the stranger but he refused to accept. The actor has now pledged to pay it forward and do a similar deed for someone else.
