John Peel gave me this on the day we met, so I feel a strong emotional connection to it. Alone Again Or is the track people know but the whole record is interesting and different. I love it.

SGT PEPPER’S LONELY HEARTS CLUB BAND The game-changer. They were blessed to work with George Martin, who could realise all of their ideas. There was nothing like it before, the closest was The Beach Boys’ Pet Sounds.

A country album that was a pointer to where I wanted to go. The songs are amazing. Such a great atmosphere.
