Mary hears some mysterious noises coming from the loft and jumps to the conclusion it’s haunted by Phelan’s ghost. She asks Billy to perform an exorcism, during which Todd appears – and startles them more than any spook ever could.

He’s been in hiding, but after Eileen calms Costello down, he re-emerges and immediately sets out to drive a wedge between Billy and Paul. The latter immediately realises what’s going on, but Billy falls for Todd’s scheme hook, line and sinker.

He does, however, show a gentler side to his nature while helping Sean build bridges with Dylan.

Gary lands a job with Ray which involves persuading various residents to sell their homes. Their first target is David, who sees the deal as a way of paying off his debts, but Gail smells a rat.

Steve fails to persuade the German doctors to help Oliver’s court case and Scott puts pressure on Johnny.
