COUPLES getting married or entering a civil partnership will no longer have to wear face masks at their ceremonies under new easing of o coronavirus restrictions. The relaxation of measures announced a by First Minister Nicola Sturgeon came into effect yesterday, as long as the pair are partitioned or at least two metres from anyone else. It applies to couples taking part in an a indoor marriage ceremony or civil partnership p registration in Scotland. Further measures announced by Nicola Sturgeon that came into force yesterday include the wearing of face coverings in more workplace settings. These include the canteen – entering, queueing or leaving – and corridors.
Sturgeon said on Thursday: “We introduced restrictions on household meetings three weeks ago, together with very tough additional restrictions last week.
“However, the most recent of those changes will not yet be having an impact on case numbers.
“And there is no doubt we are currently in a precarious position.
“That explains why I can confirm to the Parliament that all of our existing Covid restrictions will remain in place.”
