Anneka on melancholy challenge
ANNEKA Rice revealed she has fought a lifelong battle with mental health.
The Challenge Anneka s tar suf f ers f rom melancholy, a condition that leaves her with “very dark thoughts” every day.
She said: “My melancholy is something I’ve really had to fight all my life.
“It’s a debilitating sadness I feel every single morning when I wake up and I have to lie in bed and go, ‘It is fine because once I’m up, it will go.’”
The mum, 62, takes inspiration from a Winnie The Pooh story she read to her younger sister Juliet as a child.
She said: “I was putting her to bed one night and Piglet was so excited at the idea of being useful that he forgot to be frightened any more.”
