Dale actress blasts anti soap snobs
EMMERDALE star Adele Silva has revealed she was told that she’s “too soapy” for a serious acting role.
The actress, who played Kelly Windsor in Emmerdale for 18 years and also starred in EastEnders and The Bill, lashed out after a self-tape she had recorded and submitted for an audition was knocked back.
Adele, 39, tweeted: “Interesting feedback from a self-tape I really wanted to get – too soapy.
“What even does that mean? Too Panto, too musical theatre?
“I haven’t played the role of Kelly for 10 years and encounter this all the time.
“I’m not bitter. Some of my fave actors come from soaps.
“But when will this snobbery end?”
