Grease star Olivia urges green light for cannabis
OLIVIA Newton-John says cannabis saved her life and has urged governments to treat it as a medicine.
The Grease star, who was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in 2017, has not had radiotherapy for two years and only uses natural therapies.
Olivia, 72, revealed she and husband John Easterling grow cannabis in their greenhouse in California.
She said: “It’s legal to grow it here, so many plants per person.
“I feel very lucky I am here and able to talk about cancer like this. A lot of that is being married to such a wonderful man who specialises in plant medicine, he’s been able to make cannabis tinctures for me.”
She added: “I’d been on morphine for six months after I left the Wellness Centre (in 2018) and weaned myself off it with cannabis.
“You don’t die from cannabis but there’s people dying every day from opiates.”
The actor has launched the Olivia Newton-John Foundation to fund alternative therapies.
She added: “Why not make it easier for people to get, particularly those suffering with pain?”
