STANDARD LIEGE boss Philippe Montanier was delighted his side managed to get a point against the best team in Belgium and can’t wait to face Rangers on Thursday.

Standard Liege are in decent form after just one defeat in 12 domestic and European games this season. They drew 1-1 with last season’s champions and this term’s leaders Brugge on Saturday.

Montanier, above, said: “We did very well against the best team in Belgium.

“We deserved a draw. We made Brugge tremble in the second half and not many teams do that.

“I have to be happy with the way the team are playing just now. Now we must go and prepare for playing Rangers which will be an extremely difficult game.”
